I am held to a higher standard.

Expected to maintain order

Among a sea of bastards.

Maintaining a moral high ground gets harder

When everyone decides their own truth.

What right do I have to impose my will?

What right do I have to impose on another’s youth?

But it’s my responsibility still

To deliver them from themselves,

To push them beyond the veil

That impedes their ability to delve

Within themselves more deeply.
